What is Good Take?

Good Take is an iPhone teleprompter and video recorder for talking-head videos. Its prompter follows your voice and waits when you pause. After recording, it removes filler words in one tap, burns in word-by-word captions, and lets you edit the video by editing the transcript.

Everything runs on the phone. There is no account, no server, and no upload. It is free to start, with three Pro Passes a month, and Good Take Pro is $47 a year.

It is made for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn video: one person, one camera, one to three minutes.

You have something to say on camera. A product update, a lesson, a pitch, a weekly video for the people who follow you. You know what you want to say. And then you press record, lose your place, say “um” eleven times, and record it again. And again. An hour later you have five takes and post none of them.

Teleprompter apps were supposed to fix this. Most of them scroll on a timer and turn you into someone reading. Editing apps were supposed to fix the rest. Most of them want a timeline, a subscription, and an upload to somebody's server.

Remember when apps didn't want your data? We still don't.

Most video apps upload your footage to transcribe it, and keep a copy to “improve the service.” Good Take doesn't have a server to upload to. Apple's on-device speech recognition and language model do the work, on your phone, with the network off if you like.

Is there a teleprompter app that scrolls with your voice?
Yes. Good Take's prompter listens on the iPhone and moves with your voice. It waits when you pause and catches up when you rush. There is no scroll speed to set.
How do I remove “um” and “uh” from a video on iPhone?
Record or import the take in Good Take, open Studio, and tap Remove Fillers. Every filler word is cut from the transcript and the video in one tap, on the phone.
How do I add captions to a Reel without uploading it?
Good Take transcribes the take on your iPhone and burns word-by-word captions into the export, in one of four looks. Nothing is uploaded, and the captions show on every platform.
Can I record without writing a script?
Yes. Talk It Out: say what the video is about for a minute and on-device AI turns it into talking points. Interview me turns them into questions the app asks you on camera. Both need Apple Intelligence.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Download the app, allow the camera and microphone, and record.
Does my video ever leave my phone?
No. Recording, speech recognition, editing, captions, and the AI that writes your talking points all run on the iPhone. The only thing that leaves is anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.
What is free, and what does Pro add?
Recording, the prompter, Talk It Out, and basic editing are free, and you get three Pro Passes a month. Free exports without a pass carry a small Good Take mark. Good Take Pro, $47 a year, gives you every Pro feature on every take: no mark, every caption look, filler removal, and backgrounds.
What is a Pro Pass?
One of three free passes you get each month. Using a pass unlocks every Pro feature on one take and on every edit made from it, for good. Passes reset 30 days after the first one is used and do not carry over.
Which iPhones does Good Take work on?
Any iPhone running iOS 26. Talk It Out and Interview me use Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone 15 Pro or later with it enabled. Everything else works on every iOS 26 iPhone.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel Good Take Pro there. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
I want a refund. How do I get one?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for the purchase.
Is Good Take on Android?
